The Republic of Macedonia is situated in the most southern part of
the Balkan peninsula.
The country occupies a surface of 25.715 km2,
which 79% are mountainous terrain, 19% lowlands and 2% constitutes
lakes and rivers.
The borders of The Republic of Macedonia are on the east with Bulgaria,
with border line of 165km, to the west with Albania -191km, to the north
with Serbia - 231km and to the south with Greece - 262km.
